What’s the biggest complaint?

The biggest? So many reasons to choose from:

When the phone rings and I see the call is from the chief pilot, my first thought is, what on earth could I have done wrong that would make them call to fire me?

When I hear that a FA has cancer and will be starting Chemo, I know that she is about to get a checkride, that she will not pass, and I will never see her or him again.

When the company wants a broken plane moved and the pilot does not think it is safe under the conditions, I know he will either take it or get fired.

If the owner has a chance to make money moving all the planes from west coast to east coast, or by giving all the planes to someone else, or whatever, how the decision will affect pilots is not a consideration.

The airline is mostly unorganized and untrained. Decisions are made at higher levels but when things turn bad the blame is pushed to a much lower level than where it was made. Not to say that everyone is not in jeopardy, they go through VPs of Ops faster than pilots.

When a pilot gives 2 weeks notice his CASS is turned off before he finishes his trip and I know they have also turned off medical coverage before the end of a person's employment.

The union is worthless, there is no protection, the company does what it wants and the pilots take it. Good guys but no experience and no power.

I guess the last would be the biggest.

Sounds pretty bad, hope that is not the norm.

That’s the norm for any TSH airline, albeit Gojet is the worst. Look up their history and how they came into existence.

Bummer, looked like a good opportunity with all the CRJ550 conversions. Seems like their going to need a lot of pilots to pull that off.

For those still wondering...or wandering...

So....the title of the thread was "...from CURRENT GoJet pilots".
There's a handful of pilots who seem to feel the need to come in here and bash G7 on this forum.
Unknown if they ever worked here...
But, whatever: Some are going to believe what they WANT to believe.

My experience has been very positive here.
A lot of great people.

Are they unorganized? Oh, yeah.
Are they understaffed....heck ya.
Training a bit of a mess? ...Yup.
But, it really seems like they want all of us to succeed, and make it to the line. Even those who have failed this or that. (One oral fail in our class of 15...but, they are giving him some "retraining", and he should be taking it again in a week or so.)
Oh, and some really great instructors at Flight Safety STL.

As for those who claim G7 is anti-military? More than 1/4 of our class is coming from there...and, a survey of the classes before and after ours shows very similar.
Again, some are going to believe what they want to believe.

You can PM me if you want.

Looking at G7 after being away from 121 flying for 20 years. I still instruct and have occasional corporate flights in a C340. I’ll be retiring from law enforcement and thought G7 would be good with CRJ550’s supposedly coming online.

20 years is a long time for anyone.

That said, I'm coming back after 10 years....it all seems to be coming back to me. (Knock on wood.)
But, there's a lady in the class ahead of ours who is coming back after more than 20 years, and she's struggling.

YMMV

FWIW: They are hiring pilots like mad, and paying bonuses to all.

Yeah 20 is a long time, hard to believe that long ago. But zero distractions and much better at studying and time management this time around. Going to do whatever it takes.

Not really. If G7 loses their Delta flying, then the pilots are already there to take on the additional United flying.
