Bonuses no more?
Has GoJet gotten rid of all new hire and retention bonuses? Can’t seem to see anywhere on their website mentioning new hire bonuses anymore.
|
Yes. They told me in my interview that they are no longer offering them.
|
Effective last week, all future interviews were cancelled..
|
Amazing how things can change so quickly in this industry; that’s for sure.

Will GoJet continue to pay out bonuses to those who complete training and fulfill the benchmarks?
$100k per DEC is a lot of money with not a lot coming in. |

They probably have about 3 planes in the air right now.
|
I really hope g7 Doesn’t shut down. I enjoyed my time there.
if it does, the hand slapping check airman with the British accent is possibly going to have trouble finding a job. |

I saw the memo which painted a pretty bleak picture of GoJets future, but taking away bonuses sounds like fraud? |

I enjoyed my time there at GoJet and there are some great people there. I feel bad y'all are going through this but keep the head high. The last couple messages from management doesn't sound the most promising but there are so many variables still moving so hang tough.

WASHINGTON—The government won’t take a stake in small airlines seeking federal aid as part of a $2.2 trillion economic-stimulus package passed amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Treasury Department said Friday.
The department said airlines requesting less than $100 million in payroll-assistance grants won’t be required to provide financial stakes in exchange for the aid “as a result of benefits to the public,” including requirements that the companies maintain needed air service and refrain from involuntary furloughs or layoffs. This just came out today. Anyone know how much or if GoJet requested $$$$ ? I'm not sure what the Treasury Dept deems small , but looks like they are giving small airlines the green light to furlough & cut routes as needed |

$100k per DEC is a lot of money with not a lot coming in. no fvkn way...you clearly dont know who you are working for. I was stuck at a hulas company for 4 yrs during the 2008 downturn. Keep your head down, dont get violated and get the hell out asap. |

That doesn't answer the question. With the economy going gang busters and the majors hiring like crazy, there was no indication of this happening. It took about 2 weeks or less to basically destroy the airline business. No one could have possibly predicted this.

Based on what information? Downturns are inevitable. Thanks to the federal reserve and our monetary policy, but that's a whole different discussion. I agree no one saw this coming this quickly. But no one is "predicting" anything. I could predict the sun will rise tomorrow. When it does, does that prove I had some supernatural foresight of the event? Of course not because it was bound to happen by nature. Semantics I suppose.

Bonuses were paid outside the contract, so in other words, NO, it looks like they can choose not to pay them and you are free to walk away.

Normally a contract would not be written where one side is free to simply not perform, it would not really amount to a contract. What is in the contract is what controls, absent some violation of a public policy (i.e. contract for sex). Can someone PM me their contract and I can run it past the lawyer in the kitchen making coffee or the judge across the street who is bored out of his mind. If he trims his forcyntha bush any more he will kill it.

I am not sure what do you mean. In our CBA, there is no mention of bonuses, it does not prohibit them either. For those of us that were street CAs and were able to receive part of the bonus, the only "contract" that was signed was a promissory note, where you committed to attend all of the training up to IOE. There is nothing else in writing about future bonuses, other than what the company advertised on their website. The company has announced the suspension of all bonus programs. So again what contract would you like to have?
If Gojet survives and still refuses to pay the bonus then you have a court action, if Gojet goes bankrupt then you need to submit a claim to the bankruptcy court and part of the claim may have a priority status. PM me if anyone wants help as I can direct you to people who can help. |

A contract does not have to be in writing to be enforceable or provable. An offer can be made in the form of an advertisement, come work for Gojet and Gojet will give you this bonus X, with acceptance of the offer being effectuated by going to work for Gojet.

GoJet did ask for assistance, but they have not announced if they received it, it looks like they are expecting to receive it, since they are now offering Paid Leave of Absences, 35 hours of pay.

what i have noticed is these guys who make others miserable in this profession are typically weak pilots who project themselves in their fishbowl as knowledgeable in whatever position they latch onto. GOJET is a perfect example...look back over the best years aviation has ever had...look where these management scum have risen too... RB...tried for B6 shot down hard, Spiirt I heard didnt work out now at Atlas making 89$ an hour on a 40 yr old 767 Double J...total tool...tried for United...got shot down hard also...guys came out in droves to write letters, then B6 same thing i hear happened...now who knows... who else oh DF...ya that guy...told me once we didnt need type 4 because it was a star flight and it had to go out on time. Hes what, managing a flight school Dennis thats it...what a POS bi polar jackoff...hes never going anywhere. He literally ruined peoples lives back in the day. SanJay...well how much trust does a CRJ 700 have??? ....he can wow his next interviewer with all the amazing info explaining to them how hes 55yrs old applying for a regional job. so many stories and so many idiots...Thing is...Careful of the toes you step on today...Might be under the Ass you kiss tomorrow...Like when Double J called my best friend for a United Rec...he replied...Dude you were an ******* at G7. Absolutely not. Btw i did learn allot...besides how not to treat people...i learned allot from our check airmen and finally becoming one it was a great feeling giving back. It was the tuffest job i ever had for so many reasons most of which were because of the people listed above. |
