Those guys got screwed b/c of bad advice from bad representation.

Who told you that? Your 05 Captain? TSA pilots didn't have a say? The kool-aid must be real good at Gojets

No, I'm quite certain that TSA pilots wanted more flying but I'm also quite certain that their leadership wasn't competent enough to negotiate it for them. Their gorilla of an MEC chairman had plenty of personal vendettas with management and was certainly not looking out for the best interests of the pilots when he missed meetings and simply refused to negotiate. And of course their final offer wasn't a good one, what do you expect when there's no one representing you at the table?

So Lindburgurs,

Explain to me why you willingly flew those planes at block only, with days off only when mandated by 121 regs at outstations when the airline started? How long before you realized that you needed representation? What does it feel like to be denied by both airline unions and resort to joining a Teamsters local that represents such skilled trades as parking garage employees, truckers, warehouse and chemical plant workers. Not that those aren't good careers, but how do you expect to gain anything better than the junk you call a CBA?

And explain to me why this contract, supposedly so much better than TSA's was ratified many years after, and is lower than any other 70 seat operator out there (block pay isn't everything chumps), many of which were signed during bankruptcy restructuring? Hell, it's not even as good as most 50 seat rates out there.

We flew them at straight block because those were the rules without a CBA; not so anymore. And as far as days off only when mandated by the regs, I can't say I know what you're talking about.

The original pilots started negotiations with the IBT in early 2005, well before operations began. The CBA was ratified two years later, not several, and certainly not an unheard of amount of time to negotiate a CBA.

Hifly--thanks for the truth.

This is absolutely amazing.

I am not going to post my personal opinions of GoJet.

But for an airline that so many people appear to hate - these threads (relating to GoJet) always get a lot of views and responses!

Forget about the crew that lands an A320 in water, forget about the pilots that were killed in a recent cargo accident, forget about the airlines that suffered engine failures or other similar incidents....

I sure am glad that we have our priorities straight!

There's not much to argue about with those subjects. Unwinnable arguments are just attractive for some reason. Same reason I like to argue with religious people.

Yes...and the MEC OK'ed it. Period...end of story.

2nd year pay...almost what I was making at UA.

Funny. I was furloughed Sept also. Yet, I still haven't heard ANYTHING about the flowback happening at GoJet. And I have asked T.C. about it. Hmmmm. I'll call him again and ask. Why do I have to "do the math"? Why don't you just say it?
How were you making $34.00/ hr. at UAL first year?
Just some of your posts are questionable. That's all.
Did you answer the question about what you are going to do when(if) you come back to UAL, and some start giving you lip about GoJets?
Senior/junior manning is "OK"'d by the MEC too, but....

This guy has obviously never flown as a jumpseater on a United, Northwest or American mainline flight. I have had my name checked by Captains on all three to verify that I was not a scab.

I personally carry the scab list from my days at Mesa to verify the "Freedom A" scabs don't get a ride. Have had the joy of bouncing two Freedumb scabs off of the jumpseat over the last 4 years at the majors. Feels really good to humiliate a scab!

GoJet = SCAB!!!! Really Simple....no grey areas!

"oops...I thought it was 34...guess looking back it was 32 and change. Just got my w2 for a whopping 16k for 08 at UA. GREAT! TC sent an e mail stating that it was OK to go to Gojet.
Do you consider Airtran and Continental guys scabs too? It is not the same company as it was 3 years ago.
