mowiepilot,
I'm with on on the fact that the management of companies like GoJets are the ones directly responsible for everything that is wrong with an alter ego airline. HOWEVER, when pilots willingly sign up to fly for those reduced rates, they're enabling that management to get away with it. It's not just a local problem, it affects all of us. The managements of all the other regional airlines use industry average pay rates to decide what they pay their pilots. Companies like GoJets bring that average down, and therefore indirectly bring the pay of every other airline down. The last thing we need is for our pay to go down even more. We're already severely underpaid. So, I'm with you that all pilots need to stick together. However, the rest of the industry getting behind the "poor" GoJets pilots is not what I have in mind. I'm thinking more along the lines of the fact that all pilots need to refuse to work for a company that blatently dodged the agreement it made with its pilots by going behind their back to recruit SJS inflicted low-time pilots to do their jobs. So yes, let's all stick together for the greater good. |
So what I am getting is that GoJet would be a GREAT airline to work for if...
1) You had no soul or compassion for fellow pilots. 2) You only lived in domicile (no commuting or setting foot in another cockpit) 3) You never plan on leaving for the majors or any other regional. 4) You never plan on making friends within the airline/pilot community. Am I hearing this right? <----- FYI not applying to GoJets. |

Talk all the bowlshat you want....been with the company one year and getting 61.50 an hour along with block or better and 1.50 per diem....will clear 73000 dollars this year...cant whine and cry about that and where would I get more after being with a regional only one year.
Yeah! You don't need anybody else... you've got all that Gojet money. Who cares about right and wrong stepping all over the Trans States guys, stabbing them in the back, so what. Any of us would do the same thing for a price. We've all got a price. Yours is 61.50 an hour. It would seem that most other pilots, not working at GoJets, have somewhat higher standards when it comes to selling thier integrity. One more thing, when your CEO decides you guys are getting too expensive, and sets up an alter-ego to you, just exactly who do you expect to stand up for your jobs? |

You are one of the few. What would you say if Jetblue started an alter-ego airline (larger airplane for a paycut and crappier/non-existant workrules) and as a result, you were furloughed as a result? Sound familiar? You will get yours one way or another. |
