Gojet or Great Lakes?

Mods, please indulge me for a bit, not trying to start a flame war.

A friend of mine has a tough decision to make. Because of some unfortunate events, he has to choose between Gojets and Great Lakes. he has competitive times, and would like to avoid GL because of the pay (or lack thereof), and would also like to avoid Gojet because of everything that goes with that job.

Unfortunately, he's got a family to feed, and he's between a rock and a hard place. He really isn't a fan of gojet, but the reality is that the bills need to be paid.

Which airline would you go to in his shoes?

PS. Before I'm called a troll, I'm not trying to start a flame war. The person in question is a really great guy, who faces a tough choice. I'll be on the road for the next few days, so I've tried to give as much info as possible.

An anonymous poll would probably attract more users. Just sayin...;)

My bad. I thought that was the option I had selected. I can't seem to be able to change the poll. If one of the mods could do it, that would be appreciated.

The poll was an afterthought though. It would really be nice if we could have some civil discussion on why he should pick one company over the other.

Gojets. If he's gonna be stuck anywhere for any amount of time, with a family at home, I'd say GJ's.

I've got a family, they come first. Pilots and co-workers are not family. Tell him to go with what works better for his family.

Just curious, but why are GoJets and Great Lakes the only two options? Many other places are hiring, and if he has competitive times he can apply to all tomorrow and take the earliest class date. Heck, XJT pays for hotels during training while GJ doesn't, Whig is a few hundred right off the bat before you technically get hired on.

I'm reading it that those are the only 2 he has been offered a class at? Maybe his app. hasn't been pulled from better regionals yet?? Sometimes even competative apps. aren't seen right away.

His times are competitive (2000+TT, and 300+ME), and has been interviewed elsewhere. Unfortunately, these are the only 2 airlines that seem interested right now.

GJ because of the pay and a seemingly better future outlook than Lakes.

I fixed it. If it makes any difference to anyone this poll is now anonymous.

Why not Cape Air, or Ameriflight
