Anything is possible. But when I left TSA the GJ pilots had no intention of helping out the TSA group or trying to unite with them.

Pretty obvious, which was the reason for this thread, but I was hoping to get something a little more insightful.
I'm curious why you feel so strong. Did you work for TSA or GoJet at some point?

I believe Saabaroowski worked for Colgan and is now in training at Xjet. He/She is a product of mob mentallity that most young airline pilots fall victim to. This is in no way meant to bash Saabaroowski, most junior guys will find that the easiest way to get along with Captains and the major guys is to just agree with everything they say. When was the last time you heard a crewmember say: "Wow, thats an interesting way to look at things."

Airline pilots although intelligent are often stubborn and opinionated individuals.

There is no "mob" mentallity here....it is the facts...Gojets was formed to bust the TSA union, seniority list, and ruin things for others out there by taking crap pay for 70 seat flying. The regional flying will never be respectable as long as there are people willing to undercut, and GJ is a perfect example. There really is nothing more to say about these IDIOTS that decided to go there, and if they leave after they realize that they went to work for the scum of the earth, then MAYBE they could be forgiven, but the rest of them will NEVER be forgiven, and NOT ONE person currently employed at a regional will forget them.

So how much is the Starting pay for Skywest CRJ 700 pay...? 19/h

I'm certainly not a gojet fan. I'm saying that a lot of new guys in the industry don't know what being a _______ (insert you're favorite scapegoat i.e. scab/mesa pilot/gojet pilot) even is when they first start bashing them. The issue isn't whether or not these individuals deserve to be ostracized and hated. I don't know their situation and won't even attempt to judge them. The issue is that a lot of people out there have no idea what they're talking about.

It's not just about first year pay. It's about work rules, other compensation, and going beyond the first year. Skywest pay sucks, but friends that were furloughed from TSA and now working at Skywest will make more on the first year pay at the latter despite their block pay being lower.

If GJ was created for any reason other than busting ALPA, why didn't they do it like Republic/Shuttle America/CHQ? Same senority list, but different operating certificates for the various scope clauses?

I have to say I agree with Duvie regarding the mob mentality. It shows itself here in the Regional forums more than anywhere else (this is where the youngest pilot group is). The point was and is, GJ is substandard for us as a pilot group, but since they have a desireable location, good equipement, and fast upgrade, they could be a great place to work if conditions could be improved. Having the 18-24 yr old FO crowd here just respond by saying "they suck.. screw them".. although true, doesn't help us shape our future or help the next wave of young pilots. Pushing the GJ pilots to demand a better situation is where the focus needs to be regarding that issue.. then Mesa, then Colgan, etc.. etc.. Like any problem.. first identify the problem areas, come up with solutions, then put a plan into action. Sitting around just spouting out "GJ blows", or "they suck", helps no one.
