Is hiring. Taking aircraft deliveries until May for recently acquired Delta flying.

Bases are:
ORD (largest) STL RDU |
Are they going to lower the mins? I heard a rumor of them getting new insurance which will allow them to lower the new-hire and upgrade mins?

Think of it from the insurer's perspective...do you want a 500 hour wonder-pilot from Riddle or ATP flying a 70 seat jet with a street-hire Captain with 100 in type in the left seat? I added something semi-productive to this topic. Fourth! In before the lock! |
Is the ORD base a easy commute from EWR?

Still IBTL. On edit...spoonfed: EWR-RDU tomorrow - seven flights, four of which are wide open. EWR-STL tomorrow - six flights, four of which are wide open. It's like UA caters to GoJet commuters... |
i hear expressjet is hiring. I hear they may even have a EWR base.

I'm told it's due to the tsa aircraft running out of runway on numerous occasions. This morning in Rochester isn't helping either. Stop trying to grease landings and put it down already. |

That's doubtful. They've had trouble finding an underwriter. Thats also a rumor, so take it fwiw.

Sorry we make your life so difficult. Funny how you're already spewing speculation about why it went off last night. Were you there? I'm sure the NTSB would love to talk to you... |

Kind of ironic how shortly after you said this waterski waterskiied off the runway in Rochester.
Lindbergh must be tossing in his grave knowing you guys use that callsign. |

So...I could go one or two ways with this comment...I can't decide which so ill go both. 1. How do you know they "posted" a profit. Its privately held so nothing is "posted" and all financial matters are very closely held. 2. You mean to tell me you're working for a company that is actually making money and you STILL have that lousy contract?
2. Tell me about it. That's currently being worked on. I also STILL have a job. |
It amazes me how ASA/expressjet guys/gals are screaming mad at G7 and call us back stabbers and scabs but yet the planes we received from Delta are old Comair planes. Seems to me the Pot is calling the Kettle Black!!
|
BTW -
GoJet is currently hiring. Great people, nice equipment, decent schedules (once off of reserve). |

Is this your excuse for working at GJ? So you can help the company make a profit? That doesn't surprise me that they can turn a profit, with what you have for pay rates and work rules compared to other regionals.
Every FO in ORD is a line holder. It's a nice place to work. |
Well, I got on this forum for information and low and behold I got exactly what I was looking for. I was trying to figure out where I should apply and thanks to a select few on here I think I made the right choice. All the Gojet haters have made the decision very easy. Seems as if everyone on here hates their regionals and there is lots of opinionated squabbling going on. I have yet to see any Gojet pilots on here *****in and complaining about their job or their working environment (I know, the whole industry could be MUCH better)... Hmm, I wonder why? (sarcasm). If I had to work with a bunch of opinionated whiners, I would slit my wrists (not really). Now THAT brings down the QOL, you can be miserable all by yourself... You know living in hate lowers life expectancy?.. I am happy at the choice I made and owe it all the cheap quotes, mud slinging and copious amounts of rhetoric. I have only made a few posts on here because I thought I would learn more from just observing, but now I thought I would add my 2 cents and thank the posters for helping me to chose which regional I should work for. Some words of wisdom, "It's better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt" (OOPS, too late for some). Ok, got what I wanted out...Now go ahead, attack my grammar, spelling, education, gene pool, intelligence, flying skills and employment choice. Don't forget your witty tag lines, cool pictures and righteous sayings. Throw out a few "shiney" syndrome lines (those are always funny). Whatever makes you feel superior or renews your vigilance on this back stabbing/alter-ego band waggon, from oh-so-long ago. Im only here to help. ;)

What percentage of your pilot group are UAL furloughs?

They're starting to go back. A few have accepted recall already. |

I just don't understand the one liner; "Well, creating a puppet company around Trans States wasn't forbidden in the contract, so it must be ok!". Well allllright! Trans States is not the first group of pilots wronged, but probably the first, at least in a while, to be done this way however. Finally, if Go Jet pilots try to stand up for something against management, what's to say the same thing won't happen to you? Isn't the current GJ contract pretty much loaded in the favor of management making like a thief in the night? Actually a non sarcastic question, if you can forgive the biblical reference. |

Go write all about it on a Trans States thread and you guys can talk about it all you want. That stuff happend so many years ago that it is old news and it is not going to be changed. You are not going to change the past, so give your self a break and live in the present or do something positive for the future. You guys act like you are the only pilots to be dealt a bad hand in this business. I am currentyly furloughed from a good flying job---but I am not spewing hate and pointing fingers. Get on with your lives.

GoJet is a great place to work. Just read their amazing contract.

I am just so tired of hearing about what happened with Trans States/GoJets ever how many years ago. I mean really---come on---it happend and it is not going to change, so why continue to dwell in the misery. I never thought I would work at a regional again as I had paid my dues and moved on to a career flying job---but the economy tanked and I am right back to the commuter lifestlyle of flying for very little money. Just trying to tough it out until I get called back and keep a good attitude about life in general. Carrying a grudge or chip on your shoulder would be a miserable way to live everyday. |

TSA Pilots not only had to deal with the everyday regional drama, but they had PILOTS, GOJET Pilots, decide to take food DIRECTLY of their tables. This action is inexcusable and unacceptable. Look there is a reason why the mention of Gojet raises eyebrows. For ****** sake just google the name. |
