GoJet Class

Anyone have any idea when the next GoJet class is for those in the pool? Anyone that has info, thanks. To those that want to talk trash I am familiar with your opinions, spare me. I have over 7000 hours and 7 type ratings, 4500 turbine PIC and it's the only offer I have and I am pretty happy about it. Looking forward to getting back to work.

ShyGuy 12-12-2012 09:36 PM

With that time and qualifications, why GoJets? Why not try some higher ups?

I have apps in all over, been looking for many months while living on savings. I have a job offer, I can live in base, and not be an F/O for 5 years. that's why.

<insert popcorn emoticon here>

All I know is when I was there interviewing for TSA, I overheard the GoJet side was running classes of 60+ people a month for X amount of months. Talk about a pilot factory...

Yet you seem overly excited to fly the CRJ 700.

BBJay 12-12-2012 09:43 PM

It was expected from the children. Never should have asked the question. APC and a GoJet question are not compatible.

If you have a 737 type and EFIS experience internationally, I know a guy hiring a BBJ pilot. Ty Warner. He contracts pilots ALL the time. Just throwin' it out there... He'll get you current too, and might let you dunk your schweddy balls in his gyroscopic stabilized whirl pool in the back end of the plane....

BBJay 12-12-2012 09:49 PM

I do have a 737 BBJ type among others and tons of international experience. Crossed the Atlantic in a Twin Otter 5 times, Caravan 2 times, King Air many, Gulfstream many, 737BBJ many, and a few others. Spent many years away from my family in Iraq and Afghanistan...looking for a job a bit closer to home. Applied to Atlas about 100 times but no luck. So, one offer in hand is worth two in the bush. Anyones cares about why GoJet was formed in 2004, I know, but it was eight years ago, get over it.

You live in Chicagoland area?

We all know Go Jet is a bottom feeder so no point in going down that road. If you go to Go Jet, do what`s best for you. It might take you long to upgrade and it might not. Just don`t be the ususal Go Jet troll who walks around with their shirt untucked and listens to their IPOD while walking through the terminal with their sunglasses on their head. And if you gain 100 pounds while you are there at least buy a uniform that fits. Not trash talking just stating the facts seen numerous times in Denver.

BBJay 12-12-2012 10:15 PM

Those that post seem to think that 1000 hrs TPIC is how the golden road to Delta 777 captain is paved. Not so easy.

BBJay 12-12-2012 10:16 PM

Raleigh...live in base

I just want to get back to work. I have an offer and I am happy about it. I had an interview with Southern Air to fly a 747 a while back. Fortunately I did not get the call, had I did I would be furloughed. Had another call from Evergreen...747, had I accepted, again I would not be in a good position, they cant make payroll. call me stupid but I am looking forward to crj-700 time and a paycheck that arrives on time.

No one is stupid for taking a job to feed their family man, do what`s best for you.

16 posts about GoJet and very little crap...amazing

BBJay 12-12-2012 10:42 PM

I interviewed at GoJet and got hired. Should I be emberassed about that? I am not, pretty happy and looking forward to a class date.

First year FO pay feeds a family? I must be doing it wrong. I've been begging my family to feed me.

BBJay 12-12-2012 10:46 PM

first year pay does not...but years of flying in Afghanistan and Iraq does.

I agree. If you're happy with the decision you've made then why spend the time talking about it on a forum with strangers. Good luck in class.

Not if you're not "embarrassed":o about your spelling...

AtlCSIP 12-13-2012 01:13 AM

First year FO pay leads to second year pay, stops some or all of the bleeding from the savings account, and is better than no pay.

JustAnotherPLT 12-13-2012 02:08 AM

ExpressJet has been calling people back within days of applying. Why don't you try there?

I had a friend interview yesturday. They are interviewing for a Feb. start date. I would guess that you are looking at a Jan/Feb start date.

Just an FYI, people aren't holding Raleigh right out of training ( at least on the F.O. Side). The last class that graduated is spending a month in ORD before coming to RDU.

I think you will enjoy it here. Despite what is written on the boards, we have some great crews, especially here in RDU. RDU is almost exclusivly made up of Comair furloughs (like myself) as well as some Ryan furloughs. I hope this helps and I hope you can do what is best for your family.

Pilotguy143, It only took 28 posts and I got an intelligent, usefull response. Commuting for a month or two before holding RDU sounds good, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the info.

I am disappointed that so many fishies took the bait considering how clearly the hook is showing.

Surprised? No, but disappointed.

Does ExpressJet have a Raleigh base? Don't think so.

UPS1856 12-13-2012 04:14 AM

BBjay,

I flew at Gojet on furlough. A lot of furloughed dudes there, although I think quite a few have been recalled to Unical by now.
3 of us in my class had plenty of Afghani flying. Gojet was a welcome change. I enjoyed my time there at G7.

Don't be, it will not hurt you in the slightest in your career. It is just another regional. These kids on there know little to nothing to be honest. Enjoy class and congrats! :)

Considering you applied to GoJetzzz, I assumed you're in desperate need of a job. Now since you're swimming with no class scheduled or no clue when one will be, and you're desperate for a job, I thought I would be so kind as to let you know you probably will get a class date at ExpressJet before GoJetzzz. However, it seems that you're not so much into anyone's advice and just wanted to stir the pot by another GoJetzzz thread.

That's all I have to say about that, in before the lock.

Well said.

It amazes me that so few know how many furloughed United guys fly/have been flying, at GoJets. Now, those who badmouth GoJet, would be the first to stand in line trying to get an interview with UAL once they start hiring. And they can’t wait.

I flew with a pilot not long ago who was badmouthing GoJet and telling me how it’s a ‘career killer’ and , lo and behold, we had a GoJet pilot, a UAL furlough, jump-seating up front on our last leg of the day, and my colleague actually had the gall to ask him for a reference for his UAL application. YES, he asked the GoJet guy for a reference.

Irony?

Hypocrisy?

I bet my career on this fact: each one of the GoJet haters would stand in line to get a reference from a GoJet pilot whose ‘UAL credentials’ would help her/him get interview/job with UAL.

In all fairness, the UAL furloughs you speak of had a job handed to them by G7 straight into the left seat. It's much different than a guy prepping to interview and swallow that disgusting contract as an FO.
