You might be getting it mixed up with cockpit trainers. Not sure what the acronym is but there is a C and a T.

Flight safety puts you in a cockpit trainer which has working and lit buttons and toggle switches. Good PFD and MFD screens. Just no motion. And your in there for awhile before the sim. I'm not gojet.Maybe soon!

This is somewhat inaccurate. My initial new hire training was 7 weeks total (not including IOE). Pilots experiencing 2+ months of training were typically in the classes that had 40 pilots or so.

Classes haven't been that large since the summer of 2012, fwiw.

Transportation to/from hotel & HDQ, and FlightSafety? Or would I need to drive my vehicle 2000 miles just for 2 months of training?

Transportation to Flight Safety is not provided. You should be able to buddy up with the guys and gals that have a car.

Even if you did bring your car, there's nowhere to put it. The distance between the hotel and the training center is only 2 miles or so, so most people walk it bc the shuttle is only available to and from the STL airport. A majority of the walk is through a traffic tunnel, so no worries if its raining.

Im just fluckin' with ya. Of course there's a shuttle. You don't need your car. You could if you wanted to though. Parking is available.

For whatever reason, there is one of those (of the CRJ) at the Museum of Flight at DAL...I 'flew' it for a bit...could definitely see that being a huge help prior to sim - and a LOT more effective than the "paper tiger" we had at C5.
