GoJet getting 7 CRJ900s
Delta has awarded GoJet 7 CRJ900s and will start delivery June and continue through October. Where are theses birds coming from? Anyone have any insight? The DCI shuffle continues... or maybe they're 7 that Endeavor was supposed to get from the factory but can't staff them??

Endeavor took delivery of the last of the new 40 900's last month. So they are coming from some where else.

Straight from the employee call in yesterday...
The new Delta aircraft are not coming from one of the US regional competitors and will have to go through reconfiguration to the Delta configuration before going on line. These aircraft will be equipped with two lavatories. As of right now GoJet sees these aircraft being operated within the current footprint of operation not adding any new route structures. Yes coming from Lufthansa Cityline which means they are not new airplanes. All built in 2006. |
Airlines are sooooooo worried about a pilot shortage,.......... that they keep ordering regional jets.
Doesn't make much sense, does it. And keep in mind that you'll hear an announcement this week that another regional airline will be awarded an additional (new) 24 CRJ 900s, (no I won't say who). Why would airlines continue to order RJ's if they're worried about a shortage of pilots to fly them. Maybe it was the 25,600 people who took the ATP written in the first half of 2014 that has given the airlines the confidence to continue to bring-on RJ's, (although they won't admit that because they want to scare the government into lowering pilot minimums,...... so they can continue to pay rock-bottom wages to new hire pilots with rock-bottom experience). |

Interesting, I thought that Delta was maxed out on 900's due to scope. I guess not! Good info. Anyone know how many more big RJs Delta can add if they're not maxed out according to scope yet? |
Well played, GoJet. Well played.

It's PSA. Our dumbarse Exec let the cat out of the bag in a crew room in December. He was trying to sell the Envoy TA by saying we would get to keep the CRJ700s longer because PSA was going to have some or all of their 40 options exercised this year. Like I said, he was trying to make us feel like we would have a bigger fleet longer, but the stupidarse part of it was that everyone immediately realized it would limit our own 90 options because of scope.

I seriously doubt American wholly owned PSA is going to get 900s for Delta. Stranger things have happened, but not very likely.....
|
I wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement in April that actually Skywest is now getting these planes (in exchange for parking 200's). Just like with the AW deal and the Freedom planes.
|
Well we all know it won't be ExpressJet.

Nobody said anything about PSA and Delta... they said that there may be another announcement this week that another operator is awarded CRJ900 flying. Then someone else pointed out, PSA is heading up to YUL tomorrow. And then remember the unnamed order last month.... it smells a lot like AA exercising some options.
