Default GoJet Airlines - The Real Deal

Long time lurker...

Alright, so I keep reading about GoJet airlines being the worst possible choice for a regional, about it being career suicide, about everyone at GoJet basically being evil.

Really? Is it? How so?????

Are there any GoJet pilots on here that can give their actual personal experience from working at the airline?

If you worked at GoJet was it IMPOSSIBLE for you to find another job at a "better" airline???

And for all those who will jump and say negative things, WHY? Why is it career suicide? WHY is it the worst airline?

There's a long list of regionals and quite frankly I get the feeling that they're all horrible after reading so much here on APC.

I'm not trying to be on team gojet here, I'm just deciding on what regional to apply to and I don't understand all the hate towards G7.

Cue the entitled millennial / research on your own responses...
But really though, use the search function.

Kid, you should go there and see for yourself. I've heard too many horror stories about that place, and experienced the same at a 135, and various 91's operators. Aviation is unique in that a company can destroy your career with a pen. For a 121 operator to even have rumors of doing this, is a warning that should not be ignored. Listen, I work for Mesa, and they don't pull that crap. Benefits and pay aside, Mesa is a great company to work for. GoJet? We have many ex GoJetters at Mesa, all have said that Mesa is a million times better. I'm not trying to sell you on Mesa, just trying to give you some contrast.

Excellent read. I get a little sick knowing a few bad apples are always willing to sell out the collective group for inconsequential personal gain. It's happened for decades in this industry, and I'm afraid that as time goes on and pilots become less and less familiar with industry history, scabbish behavior will only become more prevalent. I shudder at the thought.

I was at GoJet and like every other regional they have good people and not so good people, the pilot group was better I would say than I have seen before, and I have been to great lakes and piedmont.
I will say this though, they do have a reputation for ruining peoples careers, their is a checkman nick named pink slip pete , and that's exactly what they have him their for to issue pink slips, he will find a way to bust you on check ride, I wont recommend anyone going there who has aspirations of going to a legacy, this guy is an old fart would never make it to a major or legacy, and he will stop who ever is trying to get to one

PSA being the most recent company to do this. It was less then 3 years ago and sadly many who weren't directly affected have forgotten. It's a shame that they were given any sort of flow opportunity AA.

Those were different times when pilots where so readily available they were spilling over. Times have changed, there's about no chance that Freedom or Gojet separate list attempts would survive in this environment. Even at the majors, the scope is tightly locked.

It's pretty simple. Don't go there.
