Just the other day a captain decided to delay a flight and have maintenance called due to a strap for a portable oxygen canister being unsecured.they could have secured it. But that just goes to show how much that captain cares for her company. IN MY OPINION. No legal action required

Being offered positions at either GoJets or TSA I was favoring GoJets because of the bonus and what I thought was a junior FO base in DEN. Now it seems looking at GoJets Den is senior and TSA is offering a much larger bonus and junior Den base. The money is not as important to me as a short commute, can anyone confirm junior bases at either for both FO and CA? Thank you in advance for any input. Lastly I have done my research and I’m well aware of the stigma of these two choices, I do have my own reasons.

Good luck working for the airline most likely to be melded with a black hole.

You can hold Denver at G7 pretty quickly. Right now it should take six months max. A good amount of the new hires right now are going to Detroit.

Heard yesterday that Delta is considering dumping GoJet for poor performance. Anyone able to confirm?

Or you could look at their completion factor for yourself and see how they are doing. (Psst they are not lagging the competition)

current YV FO. coming up on 1000 total time at the airline.
upgrades still occurring at YV, although it'll be several more months before my seniority comes around.
If given the option, would you say it's better to stay at YV and upgrade, or jump ship to G7 as either direct-entry captain, or FO but upgrade quickly, making more money (salary plus bonuses..)
Or option C, look into Frontier or Spirit or one of those types…………….

Option C if it happens

So apparently G7's latest upgrade class of 8 only had 2 passing.
The rest were immediately put in a jeopardy sim for FO check and basically were fighting for their jobs.

Sounds like a miserable training department.

They could have just not failed their checks...

As I was saying in the other thread; GoJet has an abundance of Captains from the hiring of street captains. GoJet needs more FOs but the recruitment and retention package is insufficient. The only real incentive at GoJet is the quick upgrade, but that is anything but guaranteed.

A possibility exist that GoJet is hiring street captains with the intention of using them as FOs, which is still cheaper than offering 200% critical pay to current FOs. At the same time GoJet runs upgrade classes of 8 or so giving the illusion a quick upgrade is possible, but only actually upgrading 50% of the class or less, which is the actual number they need. Now these FOs go back to the right seat for an indeterminant amount of time with a training failure which further decreases their marketability.

The flip side to that is I have heard some of the stories coming out of the training department and there is no doubt that some of these FOs are failing on their own merit.

Why do people think that upgrading is something that they deserve. Being a captain has nothing to do with flying a single engine ILS or nailing that V1 cut.
