Man, I'm with you all the way. Go full-on taliban with that beard if you want. I'm sure that would be ok and inclusive. Nobody would mind, thats totally the modern image of a pilot who lands as often as he takes off.

Spending any negotiating capital to allow facial hair in the cockpit would probably result in the recall of the negotiating committee involved.

Beards are nothing new.

Foreign carriers have had beards since the beginning.

are there people on this board that will actually fight against this facial hair movement?

There's no movement. It's a sh!t idea.

It's whatever people want to make of it. Seems like common sense to me. I have heard through the grapevine that United Airlines marketing is beginning to work on having more of an "identity" than just, "behemoth, generic airline" branding, and connecting with people. I think allowing more autonomy with their employees in the most minor ways (like allowing them to have a beard) helps them with that.

So strange that some people are against something so simple that simply allows for personal choice.

I'd say the support is there, and it could be slipped into whatever future negotiation discussions quite easily. Someone who is part of those negotiations just needs to be informed and encouraged to include it.

Simple.
