Default Seatmate of Size

I was reading the following article and wondered (1) what I would do personally if I found myself squeezed next to a larger seatmate, (2) what the FAs are told to deal with this on a full flight and (3) what the pilots’ response is if this issue ever went up front.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17724654/

I have been seated next to a larger person about 2-3 times. We ended up getting to know each other, talked about everything under the sun and the time went flying (no pun intended).

This is one of those things that Political Correctness just needs to butt out on(He, pun intended). American's are getting pathetic! I'm as guilty as the next, but I decided to do something about it before I was "that" guy. Of course, I have other wonderful thoughts on were PC should just eat it, and let the real "cruel" world serve up the words and practices that keep people in check.

Don't take it entirely out of context, doesn't mean I hate fat people or anyone different than me. That would be a lovely liberal spin on things. I'm just saying, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. And in this case, if you can't fit in the seat, hit the street.(or buy 2 seats)

Once again, I believe this is partially due to the excessive use of Political Correctness. The harsh reality of things sways people to act more than "Oh let's just make _____ so they aren't discrimenated against"
