I personally find this topic very interesting
What do you think, are we living in a simulation?

It’s equally possible that we live in a petting zoo, constructed for the amusement of bored alien children.

Some really smart people think it's likely that we live in a simulation (or managed reality). It's hard to find really smart people who are atheists, they tend more to agnostic because it's hard to definitively conclude there's nothing managing the show.

The petting zoo concept is intriguing though...

"There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."

If we are in a simulation, I think I missed a few updates!

This has already been proved by science, which makes no difference. Until scientists, and then the general public BELIEVE something, no one recognizes it. God created our universe, and it is the same as/similar to a digital environment. It has also been proved by "religious" people. Deeprak Chopra's viewpoint is about the same as mine: We are eternal, and a part of God. Our bodies, and Our Universe, are manufactured so that we can experience "physical" things. God, and our true selves, do not have a physical body, and thus cannot experience any emotions, for example.

DNA is EXACTLY THE SAME as software coding languages. DNA, as with all other coding languages, cannot come into existence on their own: They have to be created. In fact, if random changes (mutations) occur in any coding languages, they degenerate into meaningless bull****. Our DNA has built in error-correction and repair coding to fix this problem.

In addition, at scientists have found error-correction software embedded in the most basic, fundamental elements of matter. Below are the ideas from James Gates. I had previously read about a different study that found the error-correction software they found was IDENTICAL to an error-correction problem invented in the US in the 1950s...IDENTICAL! I cannot find the references for this, unfortunately.

"The more I (Tegmark) learned about [reality] later on, as a physicist, the more struck I was that, when you get deep down into how nature works, down into looking at all of you as a bunch of quarks and electrons […] if you look at how these quarks move around, the rules are entirely mathematical, as far as we can say," Tegmark said. If he were a character in a video game or simulation, he'd begin to realize that the rules were rigid and mathematical in just that way, Tegmark said."

"The great Greek philosopher Plato was entertaining the idea that our existence was like shadows dancing and flickering upon a cave wall 2,400 years ago. There was also long the idea that we all live in a perpetual dream, a concept embraced by the ancient Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi in around 369 BC, who called life “the great dream,” as well as by the 4th to 5th century C.E. Yogachara Buddhist philosopher Vasubandhu. In the 17th century, René Descartes mused that reality could all very well be manipulated and shaped at the whim of some all-powerful invisible demon without our knowledge, and in the 18th century the famous philosopher George Berkley bluntly proclaimed that our world was merely an illusion"

Namaste...

PS-Thoughts and emotions travel faster than light. When you have an idea, or an emotion, it instantaneously exists throughout our whole universe. Freaky!
The Chinese did an experiment last year? where they transferred information from the ground to a satellite with ZERO time lag. The information changed simultaneously on the surface of the earth at the same time it changed on the satellite.

"One of the problems has to do with the speed of light and the difficulties involved in trying to exceed it. You can't. Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws. The Hingefreel people of Arkintoofle Minor did try to build spaceships that were powered by bad news but they didn't work particularly well and were so extremely unwelcome whenever they arrived anywhere that there wasn't really any point in being there."
