Initial word that I saw was that it was #6, one of the opposing solos (5 & 6 are opposing solos).

A link from CNN: http://www.cnn.com/US/9910/28/missing.angel.03/

Tailwinds.

That link is to a Oct 28, 1999 crash.

I'm sure video will surface from this. People always video airshows.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the pilot, and to the rest of the Team and their families at this difficult time.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

RIP KOJACK

Not that I know any more than what's on CNN, but it sounds like from the witnesses that it was one of the two solos (# 5 or 6). The picture above is of #7. correct me if I'm wrong.

My wife and I are saddened by this news as well. We just saw them here in Tampa a couple of weeks ago. Hell, they were working out of my Ops building.

This is one sad week for the whole country.
