Default Clay Lacy

Does anyone know this guy on a personal level? (Clay Lacy aviation, Reno air races, Round the world records etc...) I have read about him over the years. I would be impressed but, according to the master scab list, he scabed for United in the 80's strike. Also, he says he has nearly 50,000 hours. I don't believe that for a second! I don't think you can log 1000/yr for 50 years. Baa. I don't believe it. He must be quite the blow hard.

APC, if this is not appropriate please PM me. If not, let's hear some stories!

He also is reported as lying about his age to the FAA and ALPA. Wouldn't surprise me if he pencil-whipped his logbook too.

Quote from above link:

"Clay Lacy carries under his belt almost 50,000 hours of flight time-more flying hours in jets than any human on the planet! To place this accumulation of flight time in perspective, it would take over five years of non-stop gear-up to touch down flying to equal this accomplishment. He has devoted his lifelong efforts to airplanes and the aviation industry, and over the years he has set many marks in private, military, air race, airline and experimental flying. This pilot's pilot-airline captain, air-race pilot, Air National Guard fighter jock, cinematographer and FBO entrepreneur is the catalyst behind Clay Lacy Aviation.

I fly out of VNY and we used to have our airplane based there for a number of years(before I was around a lot). When talking to him it can only be summed up like this: "Enough about me, what do you think of me?"
