Why do so many of you pronounce “winds aloft” like a totally normal English-speaking person but as soon as we’re heading to the homonymously named North American hotel chain you insist on pronouncing it ey-loft?🤔

Aloft vs a loft. What's the name of the hotel and how to pronounce the article a? Officially, its one word. The logo (and perhaps the 'loft' aesthetic) hints at two words.

You're not the only one. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me. What's worse is pilots who can't connect the dots on SID's/STAR's names/waypoints. KLAS is a prime example- two STAR's named after their pro sports teams- NIITZ and RAYDR. More folks pronounce them "Nitz" and Radar/Ryder. I know not everybody knows, but it still grinds my gears.
