Skyhigh? I haven't read anything by him in weeks...Does anyone know?

I miss his insights about the aviation community and pilots.

I was wondering that myself. I had a brief PM exchange with him a couple of weeks ago, but don't know where he is. Since the majority of his posts seemed to generate negative feedback, perhaps he just decided to quit posting.

I'm no psychologist but I get the feeling he liked to make people look at and think about the darker underbelly of this industry...I get the feeling he's one of those people thats the center of attention at any gathering...I've had a few PM exchanges with him and could not be more appreciative of his candid , close to the bone comments about aviation...I didn't always agree with what he said but I respect him for having an opinion and not being afraid to express it...I hope he returns...One thing I know - he fights for what he believe in and that I respect...

He felt pretty much the way I do about the whole aviation thing. While I think he went to extremes, on occasion, he did just as you said. Some of the younger viewers, just haven't a clue as to what has transpired in the last 10 to 15 years, and I think he was doing his best to help educate them. I think the bottom line is, he's moved on and he wanted to point out to the younger crowd that there is, in fact, life beyond aviation.

I hear you...I know one thing - he'll be flying his personal plane as soon as he gets it fixed up...If he ever needs a safety pilot or someone to bs with and drink a few beers he can give me a call...there is a microbrewry 5 minutes from my house - St George brewing company, first round is on me...

If he comes back, or at least lets us know he's still here, I bet he would take you up on that. The bs and beer part, anyway. Hell, I would...except I'm on the other side of the country. If you bet horses, take Lost In The Fog in the Sprint...Breeders Cup today.

Default Thanks Fellas

Thanks Guys,

SkyHigh is back! I would love to have a few rounds of beers with you and everyone else on this forum. I know that I might come off as dark and negative sometimes but I believe in what I post. I have seen this industry chew up a lot of good people. Few stick around places like this and it seems to me that there needs to be a voice from the other side of the industry. In person I am quite upbeat and positive. Just yesterday I bought a Kubota tractor that I am excited about.

Default Welcome back...

I'm glad you're back...I'll make sure to have a few beers in the fridge in-case you stop by this side of the US (this goes for everyone on this board - we have a good bunch of people here...I hope the rest of the people i meet in aviation are like this...

Default Career Change???

I think I'd like to know more about the tractor. Any pay in being a tractor driver????? Do you get to have a beer on the job? What are the junior bases, QOL, etc? Haha, congrats on the Kubota!!!
