Default Why "Open Skies" could be good for us

http://60minutes.yahoo.com/segment/79/endless_vacations

Anyone that has a legal MAXIMUM of 35hrs of work a week and 5 weeks of paid vacation will get steamrolled when the red, white, and blue workforce decides to start flying over there.

What's the unemployment ratio in France right now? somewhere around 9 or 10%?

Look at how well NAFTA and outsourcing have done for the US. The only ones profiting are India, Mexico and the CEOs.

It's done pretty damn well for the U.S. The stock market is up over 18% over the last year; 55% over the last 5 years. If your not making money it's nobodies fault but your own.

The stock market isn't a good indication of the economy. Unemployment is up, new jobs are down, home sales are down, the list goes on.

The money made on Wall Street has very little to do with the middle class.

Actually the stock market isn't too bad on an indicator as they rely on BLS data pretty heavily. Your going to be surprised:

And June data:

If more of middle class would start sticking their money in Wall Steet they may find they wouldn't be middle class for long. The U.S. economy is a damn hot box right now.

No way. If the middle class earns more money, we just create a larger span of middle class. The top tier is still hard to get to (inflation doesn't help) and is out of reach unless you hit huge on on Wall St. Might as well play the lottery.

Also if the middle class starts dumping money into the stock market you set up for a situation like you had in the 1929 crash. Yes, there are many systems in place to help prevent that from occuring but if you have that many people suddenly loose their money you're going to see big problems.

Most middle class families don't have enough money to play with the market. Debt is so rampant in our country it's sickening. By the time you have two kids, a mortgage, two car payments and a couple playtoys your money is pretty much spent and thensome.

Open skies MIGHT be good if it is limited (on a reciprocal basis) to countries with an equivalent or higher ecenomic standard than ours. If we go open skies with the third world, all of our domestic flying will soon be performed by Air Zimbabwe 727's using crews who fly over here, work a three week shift, then go home.
