He’s actually being kind and understanding with him.
We did a “mostly” Ramsey to get out of debt including mortgage, took 5 years.
100% debt free since two years.
The 200K is ridiculous, Embry Riddle?

It was interesting for sure. Kinda fun listening to Ramsey. Sometimes when I think he is going to hammer the person, he doesn't, and other times he does. Entertaining.

So flight training for all ratings is about $100k... and college tuition now is about $20-30k for an inexpensive school for a 4 year bachelors. That doesn't include any living expenses.

Unless one is already wealthy, it is practically impossible to attain a 4 year degree, or flight training, without any debt.

If I were talking to a high schooler who wants to be a pilot, I would simply tell them to immediately go to flight school, live at home, and get to 1500 hours asap. Then work on a degree once you have landed a flying job that requires and ATP.

Guard and reserve units as well as ROTC offer a lot of financial assistance for college. Debt free education and training.
Just got to give back to Uncle Sam.
