Default How much do you Pay for a First Class Medical?

My doc just raised the fee to $85. It's another $50 for the EKG. Still seems like on OK price though. I've heard of higher fees.

I don't pay anything (company covers the expense), but the guy here in Roanoke that I just saw charges $100 for the 1st class exam, and $85 for the EKG.

Gonna try another doc in town that does $85 and $40. The doc that I used in Northern VA was $80 and $40, IIRC.

If the doc is good $15 extra may be a good investment to protect a medical instead of a new doc finding a "peculiar problem" and not having a good attitude about it.

Doc here doesn't charge you until you get a job, then it's 40 for an EKG and I think 60 for the medical.

I agree. However the current ($100) guy does a bit more thorough of a medical than I really like. And his nurses are idiots that don't know how to take BP correctly or hook up an EKG (they hooked my coworker up incorrectly, took the reading and transmitted it all without the doc looking). Not exactly what I consider a confidence builder.

if anybody's in the central florida area.. my doc Frank Browning only charges $60 for the 1st.. (and no he didnt pay me to mention his name.) he and his wife (who is a nurse) are super cool.. there's another AME who also has an office in the same fly-in community, but that guy charges $90! I dunno WHY anyone would pay $30 more for the exact same thing.

Same here, insurance covers it as a wellness exam or something along those lines. This doctor though, is about two steps away from installing a drive-thru at his office. It usually consists of "Did you pi$s in the cup? Alright, any changes on your record? Can you see this? Ok, you can pay up at the desk and they'll take care of you". Seriously, I'm usually out the door in 15 minutes, tops. No idea what the EKG costs.

It just depends on where the doctor is located. Like here is California I have to pay $85. Back when I was going to school in Texas I knew a doctor that did all medical for $35.
