Yes, not a good year, compared to last year when Doug Kalitta was leading all the way to the last race and lost the Championship. His son Scott runs the Funny Car and I believe it is his second season.

FYI: I believe they pull close to 6g now days.

Thanks for the info. Interesting, I thought it would be more than that...F1 cars pull more than 4 under braking as well as through the corners.:eek:

car is a swapped '88 mazda RX7 running a '99 chevrolet LS1 V8 (stock for now), built 4L60E auto with 3500 stall. weighs in around 2700 lbs & ~350 hp..... all under the hood and sleeping.

the beauty of the swap isn't just a big motor in a small car. unlike most swaps, this car has incredible road handling ability as well... it can maintain a perfect weight balance, and the cars had great suspension from the factory. they just didn't come with the most desirable powerplant- a wankle rotary engine. while the engine is unique, its long term performance & reliability (or lack thereof) was far from acceptable to most end users.
