Default Funny Fix Names

Here's my contribution:

BUDDE - on the ILS Rwy 8 at Burbank, BUDDE is right over the Budwieser brewery which is on Roscoe Blvd inbetween the Van Nuys Airport and the 405 Fwy.

CANYN - on the Canog 8 Departure from Van Nuys is located right over the Lost Canyons Golf Club just north of Simi Valley.

LAZLO - on the JAMMN arrival for Salt Lake City is named after Laszlo a Delta pilot who continually complained about the crossing restrictions on the arrival (I know the man personally),

SENOW - on the LOC Rwy 15 (Straight-in Special) procedure at Aspen, it's the missed approach point. See now! Get it?

OOSIK...

Near Nuiqsut, AK, placed on an airway right near the lodge of a guy who kept complaining about aircraft flying overhead, look it up and you'll understand.

BLADR and TRIKL used to be fixes between Alaska and the Russian far east.

"Oosik is a term used in Alaska to describe the baculum (penile bone) of walruses, seals, sea lions, and polar bears. Sometimes as long as 60 cm (2 ft), it can be polished and used as a handle for knives and other tools. It is also frequently sold as a souvenir to tourists by Alaska Natives, the only people permitted to hunt the walrus today. In 2007 a 4.5-foot (1.4 m) long fossilized penis bone from an extinct species of walrus, believed by the seller to be the largest in existence, sold for $8000."

I like REKKS into Chicago O'Hare. It is located over a old quarry that had filled with water. My understanding is that when they drained the quarry several years ago they found many many cars which had been put there for what I am sure were nefarious reasons. Hence, REKKS.

It is not as funny as the others but DONUT leaving Ackron always made me laugh at 6am when the hotel only hands out doughnuts at that hour.
