Yes we are. Is it even a question? Time for you to go home to mommy and ask her to buy another flight sim add-on.

This isn't even close to the same country that did those things. We are a great and generous country, but we have strayed WAY off course.

We have strayed off course because of an ever more present left wing/socialist social view point that has come "out of the closet" the last thirty years.

No, it's most certainly because of our foreign policy. Nobody christened us the "international enforcer," but for some reason, we have the notion that we are. Are we really better than Syria/Iraq/etc., or do we just think so?

Dude, are you serious? We didn't just go into Iraq because we had nothing better to do and felt like fixing it. Lets not forget the role Saddam had in us going in. How about the fact the he continually kicked UN weapon inspectors out of the country and played an on going game of hide and seek with the world over weather or not he had WMD's. Lets not forget that he had his military fire missiles at hundreds of our jets protecting the Northern and Southern No Fly Zones during the 12 or so years after Desert Storm. As for as us being christened the "international enforcer," we are that way because when countries like North Korea, Iran, Syria etc threaten to blow other countries back to the stone age we are the only thing that stands in their way from doing just that. Whenever there is an international crisis who does the world look to for help...Syria? My friend, you need to watch less CNN, get out of the friendly confines of your house, and go out into the world. Go spend some time in a place like Syria and then see if you still have the same opinions.

hey... did you guys read the article about the girl that went into Logan with the circut board and battery and flashing lights on her chest?

She almost got shot. And with REASONABLE cause.

Crazy.

There are 2 kinds of people.....9/10 people and 9/12 people. The 9/10 people have their heads so far up their @sses their shoulder blades stick out the sides of their stomachs. They just don't have the mental capacity to understand that there are evil people in the world who want all of us DEAD. You can't reason with these evil dirtbags anymore than you can reason with the 9/10 people.

The 9/12 people get it. Kill or be killed. There is NOTHING to negotiate.

Here is a picture of the smiling b!tch after her arrest....

Ya think she's a 9/10er?

Not yet, I think almost everyone has shown restraint and the ability to have a non-emotional reasoned discussion (and we still have hope for you ;) ).

At the threat of taking this thread even further off topic, let me say that 9/11 wasnt the first terrorist attack in the country, and unfortunately it won't be the last. Anybody that thinks that whatever we do will make things safer really is sticking their head in the sand.

The country needs to get back to common sense. We're stretched thin, and it shows. A mixture of foreign policy decisions as well as cultural differences has lead to a reduction in the United States' standing on a global scale. For whatever the reason, we are threatened with rapidly diminishing influence both politically as well as financially/commercially.

A good balance of enhanced security measures, common sense tactics, and consideration towards our country's longstanding traditions, beliefs and constitutional rights, as well as leaders that are accountable for their actions is what we need.

Planespotta, someday when you are actually a pilot, you may get to travel to Europe and talk to REAL Europeans who still have great respect and admiration for the U.S. Not in Paris and Berlin, but in the countryside. The terrorists declared war on us in the 1970's to bring about a worldwide Muslim theocratic state...they hate our foreign policy because its the only thing standing in their way. The rest are just bitter because for the last century and even today, the safety of Europe depends heavily on the U.S.

If we retracted ourselves from the world, we would then be criticized for being isolationist. We would still be attacked by terrorists until we all bow to Allah.

1) I have talked to people in the countryside. I talked to this one guy in a chocolate shop just over the German border (maybe 30 minutes east of Strasbourg.) He thought the US was insane.

2) Yeah, so maybe I was exagerrating when I made that Syria/Iraq point. Still, when we went into Iraq without sufficient proof, killed a gross number innocent citizens (albeit accidentally, some of the time), and worsened the state of the nation instead of improving it, it didn't look to good in the eyes of many other nations. I'm not saying that justifies their anti-US stance.

3) I have given up FSX for real flying (old news.)

BTW, I consider your responses to be flame bait and unacceptable on these forums. You wouldn't belittle an airline pilot.

Oh, and Colts07, are you saying that wars can be waged on suspicion? Because Colin Powell admitted that we had no proof of Iraqi WMDs -- our original impetus for invading the nation. My friend, you need to watch less Fox.
