Pretty Funny List

1. Your former 'aviation museum' living room no longer has anything to remind you, even remotely, about flight or flying.
2. For once you are glad your place doesn't have good cell phone reception. "Sorry, scheduling, I didn't get your call."
3. Your aviation shirt, video, and poster collection has been regulated to the back of the closet.
4. You know you are totally and completely hopeless when at the end of a sixteen hour duty day, you're coming home from the airport, but still look up to watch a plane land.
5. On your hours off, a friend invites you out to dinner, you decline in favor of hamburger and beans at home.
6. On the first leg of a new pairing, the other guy says that he enjoys the job. It takes until the fourth day to have something to talk about.
7. The only reason you wear your uniform on your days off is you don't have any other clothes, you can't afford them.
8. You know I'm not kidding.

One of my buds and I came back from the A&M vs Baylor game and after he pulled into the car garage and turned if off I managed to get through 3 lines of the shutdown checklist before I realized what was going on. Only time it's ever happened though.

I have been saying "fuel" too, instead of gas. If I start flying to Europe someday I'll probably start calling it "Petrol". I have also been in the habit for years when I park my truck I shut the radio and AC/heat off. When I drive with someone else I notice nobody shuts off anything. I tend to keep a high level of situational awarness. I spend as much time looking in my mirrors as I do straight ahead. I plan for turnoffs ahead of time, etc. Its interesting to see I am not the only one that has some of these habits.

I use fuel as well. I drive very safely and plan out turns / routes ahead of time. On the interstate I go below the speed limit (62 mph) and as always trying to get the most milage out of my Maxima. I turn on the headlights all the time. I also turn-off everything when leaving the car. I wash the thing weekly and it looks brand new inside for a 2001 year car.
