iPhone Logbook

Does anybody know if anyone has created an e-Logbook for the iPhone? LogbookPro hasn't started supporting Mac yet because they don't seem to think Macs/iPhones will increase in market share in the future. While I disagree, I was just curious if anybody has seen any products/software out there that can be used, since I'm very close to buying an iPhone.

Thanks!

iPhone doesn't currently support 3rd party apps, unless you hack into I guess.

The iPhone will be open to 3rd party developers in February. Apple has a bunch of apps for it but I didn't see any logbook apps.

how would you put it into the phone? Through itunes somehow maybe?

I have an iphone and I havent even bothered to figure out how to even put music into it let alone a 3rd party app.

Well, I wasn't sure about being able to create something within the Apple software. I think the easiest way to do it would be to have an eLogbook online (with some sort of secure sign in, etc)....that way it could be accessed with Safari (or even IE or Firefox, etc). Just a thought.......But I'd love to see an 3rd party application come out for it when they're available.

More reasons not to buy an iphone or any Mac product.

There is an online logbook - www.myonlinelogbook.com. It's $36/year. And if your company uses CCS, which CAL and XJT use because I'm pretty sure it's a CAL program, it logs in automatically and downloads the pairings.

As for not buying any Apple products, for every reason someone wouldn't buy a Mac, there is a reason not to buy a PC. Not to mention all the new Macs essentially run with a two sided brain - one is Mac and one is PC. It's not an emulator, either. It's an Intel motherboard. So you can run any and all PC apps on it and have all the benefits of a Mac - the biggest being system stability.

The system stability stems from limited software support. The more they make it open to developers the more issues they will start having which is something that worries them with the iphone. As far as windows instability goes I haven't had it crash on this laptop ever. Just over two years.

I also recently read that PC World (or some comparable publication) tested Windows Vista on multiple makes and models of computers. A Mac (I don't recall which one) ran Vista the fastest out of all of them (it included a ton of PCs).

I know a lot of people don't like Macs, but they really are quite good computers. Just because they're not PCs and they're different doesn't make them bad. In fact, I'd argue that those differences made them A LOT better. Just my $.02....for what it's worth.

Exactly. My biased opinion sasy Macs are a far better product. My objective opinion says they are, at a minimum, equal products.
