*The ushers could wear big rubber "Lav Dumpin' Gloves" and kneepads.

*Maybe the preacher could give the vows over a PA, and begin with, "Ladies and Gentleman thank you for using Acme Church for you wedding today, we realize you have a choice of houses of worship when getting married, and we appreciate your business, now if you'll just sit back relax and enjoy the show, they'll be kissin' shortly...."

*Afterward you could be whisked off to the reception in a plain white Ford Econoline 350, 15 passenger van.

I could go on and on....

A buddy of mine proposed to his wife in the back galley of an old B737-100, we used to have at America West. (They were both Flight Attendants) They had an airplane shaped "groom's cake", complete with the N708AW on the tail, but no uniforms...besides you're not supposed to drink in uniform, and if the reception is dry, no self respecting pilot is going to show up anyway.

In all seriousness though, Congratulations, good luck and best wishes, whatever you decide to do.

What does your soon-to-be wife think about this? Is she a pilot also? I wouldn't do it and as a female, I wouldn't want my wedding day to be a gloomy black and blue with men wearing silly hats. I'd hate to see you come back on the boards in the future asking for a good divorce attorney.

It's ok, the kool-aid won't be spiked.

Wow...are you giving out Ipods or backpacks as thank you gifts to the wedding party?

A dude at my airline did it but he and his wife are both airline fanatics in the extreme and I think his was at least partly for a laugh. It is a second marriage for both of them.

Don't do it if you mean it to be even semi-serious.

Only if you are over 60 and have a pension, full military retirement, won the lotto last week and are marrying Paris Hilton or some other $'d debutante. Then we'll know flying 121 is all you've got regardless of the rest of us!

Sorry,
Thread blur if not hijack!

What are your thoughts?

I think a more traditional two CRJ fly by, with one inverted, would be more appropriate (think weekend airshow USAF/USN routine).

Maybe open with the traditional "peanut drop", instead of skydivers and old glory...
