Shaving foam and TSA.

Shaving foam and TSA.
So, on the way to my interview TSA decided that my shaving foam posed a threat to national security and took it away. They took it because they said it was too big (larger than 3 oz.) My question is: Is there a place where a you can buy small travel size shaving foam cans? Do they not harass pilots as much as a normal traveler (as I was that day.) OR FINALLy, is there a way to make a normal shaving foam bottle legal for travel? Any input guys?

If you are in uniform the 3oz. rule does not apply. It still has to be in a zip lock bag though from what I understand (not sure, the airplane I fly never has to go through security). You can buy travel size stuff at target/walmart/walgreens/yada yada yada, you just have to look a little harder to find them :-). A normal shaving cream bottle might make it through security, depending on where you are at/who is looking at your bag, but why risk the $2?

2 bones I wish! In this particular case the spending went like this. Cab fare to Wal-Mart $8 ....Shaving cream....$2..........Cab Fare home $8. Quite the adventure to make sure I did not look like a lumber-jack for the interview. THanks for the advice, and I had heard after the fact that a ziploc bag magically makes everything okay.

Ditch the foam. Anything in the hotel will work...soap. shampoo, conditioner. Foam is a marketing scam and a waste of space and packaging. It's actually harder on your face and a worse lubricant than plain old bar soap.

Future advice... if you're staying at a hotel when travelling, most have complimentary toiletries for situations like these...
