Default Scott Leather - Jumbo or Square Top?

I'm looking at the Jumbo 'Flight Kit' and the Square Top 'Flight Kit' at Scott Leather Co. Anyone have something good or bad to say about these? Do the straps on the Jumbo tend to stretch too much after a while? Has anyone who owned the Square Top had the handle break on them?

I inquired with Scott Leather about price and a professional discount. The email reply stated the price online is already discounted (hence "Airline Price").

I have the Scott "Jumbo" Flight Kit. I've had it for over a year - it still looks (and feels) like brand new. The handles haven't stretched out at all. In fact, I've been trying to jam a 1.5L water bottle underneath them for the past year, to absolutely no avail. I would highly recommend it. I got the inside pouch (but not the outside pouch), and I couldn't possibly be happier with it.

Additionally, I paid a fortune for my previous flight case, and after less than 3 years, I had to beg my company's maintenance department to perform emergency surgery on it with speed tape... I don't see that happening with my Scott.

I have the Jumbo also and have been very happy with it. Dennis at www.outermarker.com offered me the best price, quick free shipping and great personalized customer service. He'll also send you a free personalized bag tag.

Hey, I have the square top. As above, I love it. Great bag. Is your company going to the Elec Flight Books? If so, may not want to spend so much on a bag that is going to be obsolete. If not, buy the Scott. Worth every dime. Also, a 1.5 litre bottle of water fits perfectly under the handles of the square top!!

Actually, reCALcitrant - it sounds like you've got what they call the "Jumbo" flight kit too... It's got a flat top, but two large handles that snap together at the top, right? The "Square Top" is the same flight kit just with a square regular briefcase handle (there's no place for a water bottle). I know other people that can fit a water bottle under their handles too - mine won't stretch out enough! (I guess that's probably a good thing!)

I don't know when/if Delta is going to start using Elec Flight Books--anyone have any info on this? Maybe I'll just play it safe and wait until after indoc.

I had Scotty build a custom bag for me. It fits perfectly in the hole of the MD-11 and is the perfect height below the pull out table. I've been very happy with what I got. As far as the electronic whatever your airline calls it, the bag just gives you one more vehicle in which to carry around more crap. Both good and bad.

You're safe to buy the bag. By the time Delta gets around to an electronic flight kit/bag/laptop, your Scott bag will be well-seasoned.
