Default College question

I plan on using my GI bill for college. Do I have to have an associates degree to get a bachelor's degree (4 years). Can I go straight into a 4 year degree program without having an associates?

You do not need an associates degree to get a 4 year degree. I dont see how the GI bill makes any difference.

It dosen't make any difference. I was just explaining how I was going to pay for college.

If I choose to have an associates degree would that add 2 more years to the college time period?

It doesnt "add" 2 more years to have an associates degree. An associates degree normally takes 2 years from start to end. Its kind of like a mini degree, while a bachelors degree takes 4 years and does not require an associates degree as a prerequisite.

You can get either one. It just depends on how much education you want, how much money you have and how much time you are going to give yourself to get it.

I recommend just taking 4 years and getting a full bachelors degree.

Get the 4 year, an associates does almost nothing for your marketability unless it is in a very specific vocational field which you would want to work in (ex. instrumentation).

Bri85 recomended that you contact a local university's VA office on this thread.
