TSA at it again
Just when you think TSA can't be any more stupid than they have in the past, stories like this occur.

You'd think they have the sense to know that it's not something that can easily be removed. Even so, why should she need to remove her jewelery after they'd seen it. Thank God she wasn't pierced elsewhere

I agree that the TSA has idiots, but at what point do you as a passenger just say "F-off" and leave the secure area?
I can tell you that if a TSA agent asked to see any part of my (or my wife's) body beyond what you might see when I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt, the first thing that is going to happen is I'm calling for the Airport Security Director. Screw the supervisor BS- go straight to the top.

Pre 9/11, while traveling in my Navy uniform under orders, I was asked to remove my shirt stays (for those who don't know, a set of garters that go from your socks to the shirt tail to keep the shirt tucked in). Guess I should have sued.

I think what's so typically TSA about this is how they refused a perfectly logical and satisfactory solution offered by the traveler: that she show her piercings to a female officer in private.
But, hey, it's so much more fun to cause embarrassment, immense physical pain and force people to use unsanitized tools to remove implanted adornments...
