Default Airlines closed down in past year

1. Big Sky Airlines
2. Skyway Airlines
2. MaxJet Airways
3. Kitty Hawk Air
4. Aloha Airlines
5. Champion Air (on May 31)

Five airlines will have closed their doors in one year. The legacies are talking about merging just to survive, and ExpressJet is taking voluntary leaves of absence. This has been a very bad year for some airlines. Eventually the oil companies are going to put some of their biggest customers out of business.
Who's next...ATA??? Lets hope not.

This is all healthy. Let the weak carriers fail so the strong will survive. Too bad for the pilots so dumb as to be hired by failing companies. Pilots who are smart only work for companies that will grow and succeed. No regulation or governments bail outs are needed. Eventually there will be one or two strong airlines. Then they will be able to charge any fare they want. Then they will be profitable. That is the American way. If you don't like it move to a communist country you traitor.

If you think this is flame bait please note that my tougne is planted firmly in my cheek.

Ignorance must be bliss. No matter how many shut down there will always be an investment group who thinks they've found their market. Skybus comes to mind.
