Default Question about the pay scales

Wondering how I'm supposed to read these scales: say a 5-yr FO is upgraded. Should I just move straight over to captain pay at the 5 year mark, or does it start at the bottom again?

You move over to the captain pay for the number of years which you would have been at the company. On your fifth year as an FO and pilot at XYZ you upgrade to CA and get paid fifth year captain pay.
