Tipping Van Drivers
I tip the hotel van drivers 2 bucks. For a lazy driver who won't help with the bags, they get a buck, or nothing if they have an attitude.
Am I tipping too much at $2.00? I notice that most crews pay out a dollar at the end of a ride.

I tip $2.00 too. I get per diem while I'm on the road - so it's really not money out of my pocket. I'll get a crew meal on the plane, so two meals the rest of the day is covered by per diem with money left over. So, $2.00 - 4.00 in tips for the van driver is fine, unless he/she is a putz. I don't feel obligated to tip, if they have an attitude or help with bags, I could care less about getting a dirty look from them.

I'm usually up to tipping them $1.00, but only if they're on time. If we have to wait more than a few minutes, I don't tip at all.
Van drivers should be paid better. Why have hotel guests subsidize these employees' pay?
Nobody tips regional pilots, who are paid even less than a shuttle driver.- and we can cut corners, speed up, and taxi like a bat out of hell to help make these passengers' connections.
A captain I know leaves a tip jar hanging on the cockpit door as passengers exit.
