Not too surprisng...
If you took the top third of major airline CA and FO lists, and the top third of regional CA seniority lists, most of those folks are pretty happy. All of the regional FO's could be unhappy and you would still get 50% satisfaction rating industry wide.

Atypical sample?
One problem with "occupational happiness" surveys is determining how much of the total happiness was actually caused by the job, and how much the employees brought with them to the job. Pilots may well have posessed better-than-average health, education, curiosity, motivation, etc. before their first flight. Such qualities might have led these same individuals to report a high level of satisfaction had they chosen another career field.
