Default Holiday Gifts

Good day much appreciated pilots! i was hoping someone could help me out with a gift issue.

My brother has just completed his first semester of flight training at
Embry
-Riddle and is on his way to having a career as a pilot. As experienced pilots, I was hoping that you might be able to point me in the right direction as a
Christmas
gift; was there something that you have now or could have had in flight school that would have made your life so much easier?

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you all very much and have a great
holiday
season!

I'd say get him the book "Everything explained for the Professional Pilot" by Richie Lengel. It is a "plain english" regulations book which he'll keep the rest of his career.

Second that, that book is a PERFECT gift!!!! Besides a case of ramen noodles, some other suggestions might be some Jeppesen approach plate binders, or Jeppesen vfr/ifr kneeboard (look on eBay), a nice pair of sunglasses, or maybe a nice model of the aircraft of the plane he is / or wants to fly. Good luck...
