There was a story here in the local rag about a parent who was upset her kid's teacher was not pronouncing the little brat's name properly. The kid's name is Le-a. Any halfwit would pronounce it "Leah", but the mother was upset, saying "The '-' is NOT silent, her name is Le-dash-a". Poor kid ....

I think naming your child in that way should be automatic grounds for them being placed in foster care.

If I ever run for political office one of my campaign platforms will be "neuter the stupid".

If only that would work. If we tried that method, then the GOVERNMENT would decide who the "stupid" people are. Oh yeah, they tried that in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union (and they still do in China). If we are not careful, it could happen here very soon.

I'm sorry that you can't read the sarcasm dripping from that statement.

However, if you're naming your children in that fashion you obviously are showing a lack in judgment that's required for raising children. Guess what, the government already has the ability to determine that.

How about taking things a little less seriously?

Hey, I know YOU are being sarcastic. I was not trying to deride YOU, I was making the point that many people are too lazy to think and they want their parents, University professors, politicians, etc to tell them what to think. My own sarcasm is not directed at you.

Thumbs down

I agree with Toejam,
The parents are cowards, if they felt so strongly about it then they should have changed their own names......................

Good point, I guess the mother is even more of a moron. So, the kid's name should be "Le-hyphen-ah"?? Idiots ...
