Wow, here I thought Pilots were whiners..........

Ok My fiance works as a Pharmacuetial Sales rep, she finds out today if she gets to keep her (very ucrative)job as a sales Rep. She decided to check out her version of the "Crack Pipe" (CafePharma) to see what was going on and I was shocked at some of these people's responses. They all make a lot of money, they all will MOST LIKELY have a very nice severance package and lets all remember that they won't start off at 20K commuting at a regional....

I would love to tell these people that if they think they have it bad they should check out APC :)

It's always fun to listen to a Fedex pilot complain about his taxes. He pays the IRS more than regional first officers make in a year.

Philip Graham said it best. We've become a nation of whiners. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_cTJhJZ5t8

My wife’s a Dir. of HR for one of the world largest engineering firms (responsible for ORD, LAX, ALT and PHX’s expansions as well as 1000’s of infrastructure contracts worldwide) and over the last 6 months her company has started bringing the hatchet. She's had a rough go of it lately but one thing I will say is that she tells the truth, her company doesn't try to hide anything and the severance packages are more than fair. The most amazing part is that her firm actually does a sort of recall based upon time with the company and skill sets when they need positions filled. Those who were let go and posses the proper skills for the open position are called first and the job only hits the boards after they've worked completely through the list. Kind if impressive if you ask me.

As to the FedEx pilot, my wife and I paid 36K in federal taxes. We paid over 8K to GA and in my mind the only state more messed up that GA is IL (LOL!). In the end I’d rather make more and pay more than make less to pay less. It’s just nice  to see our government, both Federal and State, **** our hard earned money away.

Freedom isn't free. Better to pay money than blood. Semper Fi!

Yes, I have 110% support for the troops but it pi$$es me off that our government would rather spend millions on office renovations and other "BS" earmarks than supply our troops with the proper tools necessary to better protect themselves.

So many of you here chastise new pilots for whining about the pay and QOL and the typical response is something like this: "you knew what you were getting into, stop whining",

Maybe the troops knew what they were getting into, they should do their job and stop whining as well...

While I don't mean any of this and I appreciate the job they do this should illustrate my point that some people like pilot or troops have the right to demand (whine) improvement.

You nearly had me release upon you a written tirade of which you have yet to have had the privilege to see before...

We are all volunteers... There are VERY few if any Vietnam era draftees still in service today. We know full well what we signed up for. To call us whiners? When? We get paid squat, have the worst living conditions ever... Tell me when you as a commuter at a ****ty hotel ever had to think about a mortar hitting your tent and blowing your ass to hell and back? And that is even if you get a tent... Do you even know how many nights we spend in some god forsaken hole in the ground? The term Dig-In has real meaning.

We don't complain about QOL, Benefits, or Pay. We are here for a higher cause, I won't wave a flag and say we are here to fight for freedom, and protect the States... Albeit true, however, We are here for our fellow soldiers. We are one. I would gladly die for the man/woman next to me. No matter race, creed, or color.

I say again, We are one. We accomplish missions and tasks that most corporations are envious of... If the pilot group could take something from us, it would be UNITY. Our all for one and one for all mentality, would serve a good purpose for you... However, Some of you dont get it.

You name me one other profession, that you have a very good possibility of getting shot at, blown up, or otherwise hurt for 2,200.00 a month...

My point being, you should never ever, I mean ever compare the Military to a pilot group. We do things you could only imagine. We are a cohesive group. You are a bunch of smaller groups that sometimes work together...

The apples and oranges addage comes into play here. How you can even begin to compare the two, I dont know.

And no, soldiers do not have the right to complain... As a soldier you give up certain rights and privleges... Free speach is one of them. You do as you are told, all the way up. No complaints, no if ands or buts. Do your job. That is all. Everyone has a job, if we all do it, then we survive(mostly) and get to go home. If one person does not do his/her job dozens are in danger. We dont get meetings, votes, or petitions to try and change what we think needs changing...

That is about it, this post kinda long, but nothing like the scalding one I was going to put up.
