How do you explain an environment where the content of a man’s character can be summed up into two simple four-word phrases…….”He’s a good ****” or “He’s a @#*%@$ ‘ idiot.”

This is probably thread drift, but what the heck. I understand that if someone's callsign is a derivative of his real name, he is considered one of these "good ****," but if it's Sanka or Redbone or Slick, he's a @#*%@$ idiot."

A few of you have shared with me your callsign and I noticed it has something to do with your name. I have yet to hear from someone otherwise. ;)

Personally, I like to be called ... well, nevermind.

Callsigns are derived either from some notable (usually not in a good way) incident or behavior, or if no such track record exists, a play on your name.

If somebodies callsign makes no apparent sense...best not to ask.

Same logic applied to Steve Martin's dog in "The Jerk"
