I have great respect for Mr. McNamara. I believe that the speech that he gave when he was leaving the World Bank was one that should have been adhered to. But it wasn't. Member nations went on with "business as usual", however, the tables have started to turn.

"The South shall rise again"!

RIP Bob.

Not one of my favorite guys, to say the least. He pled a mea culpa in the 90s with his book. Most saw as an attempt to re-write history and his part in the design and execution of the war.

Absolutely correct. A mea culpa for continuing a war costing tens of thousands of American lives, even though he had reached the conclusion that the war was futile. An apology thirty years later? A truly despicable man.
