I thought the House Sergeant-At-Arms had an appropriate name (and income!):

Wilson Livingood
(73)
House Sergeant-at-Arms
Washington, D.C.
$166,774.98

How do you get to be a "Dead Animal Operator" ? What exactly do you operate?

Lonnie Wade Jr.
(56)
Dead Animal Operator, Department of Public Works
Washington, D.C.
$38,000

Call me stupid.... but I didn't know alley cat allies was a lucrative business..... $137k/year not bad for a company who lists these as goals:
Forget the flying biz, I'm crossing over to the cat compassion business!
We promote and launch programs that benefit both cats and communities, and we educate the public about ways that cats and people can peacefully co-exist
We work with like-minded organizations, united under the common goals of effecting change and supporting compassion towards cats

On a possibly unrelated note, I was watching a brief clip of a particularly gruesome slaughterhouse scene in "Fast Food Nation" the other night and felt the need for a grilled burger or maybe a plate of beefheart with marrow gravy. Perhaps there is some sort of uneasy parallel between DC and a slaughterhouse.
"Mark Twain once remarked that there are two things you should never see being made, Politics and Sausage, because if you knew how they were produced, you might lose your taste for them." Or possibly Otto von Bismark said this, Upton Sinclair and all that.
