Default Doubleday Novelist Seeking Help For New Book

I am Keith Thomson, author of the book Once A Spy (Doubleday, March 2010). I am currently working on the sequel, Twice A Spy, which will be published in March, 2011. In it I have a scene where a complete amateur must ditch a Beech King twin turbo prop plane into a mild Caribbean.

I, like the hero of the scene, know little about flying. I can barely fly a kite. I am looking for someone who could talk me through the steps to descend from 10,000 feet or so and ditch safely. I would also like to know what such a ditching would feel like, look like, etc. If you are interested, please contact me either through this forum, or, probably better, at [email protected]. Thanks.

Déjà vu anyone? There was already a thread on this exact topic a few months ago.

ditching a turbo prop is hard to do. Those props hit the water it would almost flip the airplane

Hello all,

My name is Buck Turgidson. After retiring as an Air Force General, I began flying for a major airline.

Can someone tell me how to write a novel?

Mr. President, I'm not saying we wouldn't get our hair mussed. But I do say no more than ten to twenty million killed, tops. Uh, depending on the breaks.

Pilots should be more like lawyers, NO FREE ADVICE.

I'll tell ypu how to do it, just send me a $1,000 retainer up front.
