TSA and PDA

TSA and PDA
Two part question here:
1) I saw something yesterday that I had not across before. Random screening AT THE GATE. I would say that this would not normally be a problem except that flying on SWA I didn't get up early or stay up late in order to check in at the earliest moment and get that covetted Group A seating just to get pulled out of line and lose 10-15 places in line. I asked the person who lost her place in line to vpme back to her rightful place in line in front of me but this seems wrong to me. I suupose that this is another of the knee jerk reactions to recent events or have I just been lucky and not seem these actions on the past?
2) PDA = Public Display of Affection to those who don't know. I again recently saw something that I had never seen before. An airline captain walking down the middle of the terminal holding hands with a flight attendent - BOTH IN UNIFORM! Could some of the P121 members please share your company's policies (or lack thereof) on PDA while on duty.

1. They do that sometimes. It was big after 9/11 (usually done by ANG guys with M4's) and I have seen more of it this holiday season.
2. Depends on company policy, I don't recall anything at my airline but I'm sure somebody somewhere has a rule about it. It was probably his wife...in which case the company would probably be afraid to enforce it (harassment lawsuit) unless it was a "get a room!" moment.
It's more likely that flight attendants would have a rule about that as opposed to pilots. Pilots and FA's are not treated equally when it comes to things like that. If I haven't finished my water bottle at the end of the day, I take it to the hotel with me since I already backwashed in it. FA's at most companies would get fired for "stealing" if they did that.
