Thank you very much everyone for the kind words! I'm still just plain happy and can hardly believe what happened! It's just amazing, being 19 years old and knowing (not hoping anymore, knowing) that I will have my flight training paid for and have a great job with Lufthansa as a F/O on the A320 Family or the 737 in less than three years! Probably I will be flying the line with only 21 years of age... It really is hard to believe!

So, thanks again for your kind words and all the information I was able to gather here over the past 5 (or so) years! If anybody comes to Germany anytime, just shoot me a pm and maybe I could buy you a beer or two!

Clear Skies - Jakob

P.S. Vagabond, Hauptbahnhof is a very improtant word to know I'm sure! And it's not easy to pronounce! Herzlichen Dank für Ihre Freundlichkeit und alles Gute! ;-)
P.P.S. Yes, I will be flying in GYR for about 4 months! Bonanzas I think... Can't wait!

I am saying all these weird things because today I have passed the final tests and interview for Lufthansa! My big dream, the great opportunity to have my flight training paid by the airline and have a secure and well paid job afterwarts, has come true! They have accepted me for their "ab initio" (cadet training) program!

So let me say again: Thank you everyone! Hopefully we can soon meet on some airport in the world even if I will not be flying for a US airline!

Yours,
Jakob

Congratulations, Jakob! Ausgezeichnet, Mensch...

Keep us informed of your training with Lufthansa.

The reason I'm flying today was my yearly Lufthansa 747 trips from ORD to FRA in the 70's. My German mother flew me back and forth all the time, and my love for flying began.

You're living the dream! Stay in touch with us...
