Default Tom Brokaw Presents - Operation Yellow Ribbon

Here is a great story from NBC that aired during the Olympics describing what happened on September 11th when 39 transatlantic flights were redirected to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland.

Really shows how human spirit can triumph through tragedy.

I saw that during the Olympics. What a great story.

The story is good and one that not many folks were aware of. Similar outpourings of support happened at other Canadian airports, too.

What was unfortunate was the NBC coverage of the Olympics themselves. Complete garbage.

Honestly, even the CBC's coverage was pathetic. I'm grateful to live near the border and have had Vancouver CTV at my fingertips. Practically 24 hour coverage.

I can't watch the special now, but I look forward to it.

I saw that report during the Olympics and was very moved by the story.

I wanted friends to see it and am glad you posted the links. Thanks!
