Default A318 Scrap?

Scrapping aircraft from 2007 builds? Are the A318 worth that little as a full bird? Are the A318 really THAT bad!?!

More Frontier?s A318s head for scrap

My only guess is that with the depressed used aircraft market, the parts are worth more than the airplane in its entirety.

a buddy of mine was telling me that the market for used aircraft has actually gotten so bad that older airplanes are worth more when sold for parts than as a whole. some buisness jets that you could buy for less than a million can net you over 3 million for their parts.

I had a buddy of mine ferry a fairly new 777 to the scrap yard last year. Same deal except this one had some other issues as well.
