Does anyone find it disappointing that almost all models of the Starship were scrapped? I just can't believe that they would take such a quality aircraft with enormous potential and just scrap it. I think there are a few Pushers being produced by various foreign companies but, it seems like they will never be accepted by the aviation community despite their great performance.

It was always a poor seller for Beech and it damged the bottom line, development costs were high and sales earned it the nickname "Plastic Duke". The 350 was cheaper and better in many respects. Beech got bailed out by military orders for other aircraft. They eventually were able to use their experience with carbon fiber on some of their jet line.
The Piaggio is beautiful, but the company is still a very minor player in terms of numbers of aircraft sold.

From what I hear pushers provide an incredible flight. Almost everyday I hear the distinct drone of what I think is a P-180. I hope one day I get the oppurtunity to give one a spin.
