In the end I do agree with you gents that people fear what they don't know. I was myself very concerned during the first few hours of my training. Loud engine, and exposure to foreign world, and of course turbulence can make one very uncomfortable...
I used to get sick when I was a kid. It was always the smell of a light airplane in combination with the noise and then you add in some bumps and watch out!

The first time I ever flew an airplane where I was concentrating on making the thing stay up right my airsickness vanished forever. It makes me wonder if the airsick person had a job while flying if that would change things for them?
