I personally know (and have flown with) a major airline pilot who has a hippy ponytail down to his belt. He ALWAYS wears his uniform hat outside the cockpit. Apparently everybody in the training dept knows why he wears full uniform to recurrent 
But you would never know by looking at him, so he maintains his professional demeanor.

Somewhat of a flamebait question really, doesn't matter a whit what we think. Only matters what the man/woman who hires you thinks.
Our FOM specifies our grooming standards (and it leans heavily on military precedent as most companies)
As pointed out, wear what you want and don't complain about the results.
Will grow my hair long after I retire
